What are high-frequency words?
High frequency words, sight words, key words, are the words that appear frequently in books for children and are usually learned using a whole word approach to reading.

Why does Action Words use this particular high-frequency words list?
The Action Words high-frequency word list was taken from the UK Government guidelines in 2000.
Action Words is sold internationally and while we cannot match each country's recommended word list we do offer some flexible learning resources (e.g. the clipart) so that teachers can tailor the system to their needs.
